Emptiness Dancing - A two day workshop with Satu Tuomela
2nd/3rd December 12pm-5pm
“When emptiness is still, that is eternity. When it moves, that is love.” -Adyashanti
This weekend workshop is geared towards awakening the wonders of our true nature as a folding and unfolding of the continuum of body, mind and energy! We will be exploring the philosophy and teachings of classical nondual Tantra through Trika Shaivism or Kashmir Shaivism, and the embodiment of it through somatic practices and yoga.
In these somatic movement and embodiment practices: Authentic Flow, Shake the Dust and Embodied Yin, we get to immerse in cellular consciousness, fluids, bones, muscles, nervous system and the organs to bring the tone of these into action, and back to rest.
Come with a beginners mind! Everyone is welcome, but a bit of experience in yoga-āsana will be supportive in the process. We will start all sessions with a short introduction/Satsang and end with journaling and sharing. You can expect free non-performative intuitive movement and Body-Mind Centering (BMC) explorations as well.

ABOUT THE CLASSES -
AUTHENTIC FLOW: is a somatic approach to movement through which we listen, taste, see, feel, inquire and learn to embody our bodies as a living, feeling and exploring creative process of becoming. This is an ongoing conversation between the inner and the outer, your body and it’s interconnectedness to the environment, between every part of your bodyheartmind, and as a whole. It seeks to clarify tools and pathways for sensing and recognizing Truth, ‘Here-ness’, safety & home, as well as rapture.
SHAKE THE DUST: is a transformative and embodied practice of the body-heart-mind. Through a guided poetic universe, we journey between perpetual movement, rest, release and free movement. With shaking, jumping, dancing, intuitive movement, pilates, somatics and bodyweight training, not to mention a kick-ass and carefully curated playlist. This class is for anyone and will at best deliver a cathartic release, a great workout, sweat and a strong, resilient body
EMBODIED YIN: invites us to explore our multidimensional capacities for healing by listening and sensing with the whole body-mind. It increases awareness of our mind-body connection in each dimension and through different somatic approaches, intuitive movement, classical non-dual Tantra, Chinese medicine and Yin yoga, opens up space by helping to release limitations.
BMC (Body Mind Centering) & AUTHENTIC FLOW: When you move everything moves. We are movement and the movement we are will inform the movement we do; on and off the mat. As we consciously find this arising movement of Truth, we also support more complex, self-regulatory and healing processes in the body-mind. This brings a sense of relief and emotional clarity, a sense of agency and tranquility, nourishment, connection and love.

The Heart of Depth
19:11:2024 2-4:30pm
Discover your own innate wisdom.
An exploration & journey to the true self through embodied movement, pranayama, meditation, journalling, deep rest & community.
Using movement as a tool for self exploration, self expression, joy and nourishment - we peel back layers of conditioning, patterns, limiting self beliefs that hold us back from our potential, cultivating compassion & accepting ourselves just as we are.
Details of the 2.5hr Workshop
Starting with a nourishing practice including pranayama, dynamic & restorative asana, embodied & free movement, a long deeply restful & nurturing savasana.
We will then gather in circle to talk, listen and journal.
Gathering in circle together, perhaps to share and listen to others. I truly believe this is where the magic happens, a beautiful opportunity to share in an open, compassionate and accepting space, to listen and be truly seen just as you are. This shared connection can create a powerful space for growth, understanding, and the potential for healing and transformation.
(you dont have to talk or share, you are still welcome in the circle, listeners are needed as much as sharers)
A truly nourishing afternoon of ritual to ground, restore, connect and inspire.
I hope to see you there,
Love Heather x

Grounding into Autumn
Join Sara on Sunday the 29th October for a 2 hour special as we ease into the season of Autumn.
Autumn is a time of change and letting go. It challenges us to embrace life for all that it is - we need the shadows as well as the sunlight. Sometimes change can make us feel wobbly - so through this nourishing afternoon workshop, we invite you to find centre.
Through a rich 2 hour practice, Sara will support you to ground into the season ahead of us - these seasons of introspection ultimately allow us to be reborn again in the spring. It’s a time that calls us to soften and fold into ourselves, and in turn, reflect on what’s been and what is to come.
You can expect guided meditation, pranayama and journalling, as well as plenty of nourishing, fluid and dynamic movement. Sara will guide you through the magic of mandala vinyasa, a practice that moves fluidly and cyclically around the mat. Through this, we will explore the idea of being grounded, yet open to the continuously changing, flowing nature of life. There will be moments to pause and feel, as well as moments to challenge, and sweat out what we need to let go of!
The session will close with time for deep rest, reflection and integration (think bolsters, blankets and lavender oil head rubs - time to embrace getting cosy!)

Intro to TRE
new dates coming soon
What is TRE(r)?
All mammals have a primal impulse to shake after a stressful situation. This is because shaking or tremoring is a natural way to release tension and stress from the body. However, us humans have been socially conditioned to try and stop or tense against shaking; misunderstanding that our bodies are supporting us to regulate our nervous system and come back into a state of balance.
TRE(r) stands for Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises and was created by Dr David Berceli . The process includes a set of 7 exercises for grounding and feeling the body. which gently lead us into activating this internal shaking reflex in a safe and controlled way.
What happens in the workshop?
A workshop is a great way to be introduced to TRE and have an experience of the process. We'll start with a cuppa tea, introductions, and space to check in with our bodies.
Chandani will then give an introductory talk on TRE before being guided through the practical exercises and a safe space to explore your body shaking. You'll be shown how to safely start and stop the tremors as well as different ways to support yourself and stay present and embodied during your process. We'll end with a cosy integration period (the TRE world's savasana!) and time for sharing and questions.
Why try TRE(r)?
A common misconception is to only see trauma as significant events, such as a car crash. However, trauma is actually our response to overwhelming situations or people. When we perceive danger, our bodies automatically go into primitive defence responses in order to promote survival. When we do not complete a survival stress response (to shake it out!), we can become 'stuck' in a survival response, such as fight, flight or freeze. This means you could spend months or years 'running on adrenaline' or perhaps feeling 'numb' or not completely in your body.
This is where TRE comes in, providing us with a natural process to release the stored stress and tension patterns from within the muscle tissue, allowing us to turn down our over-protective defence responses. For most people, this means feeling calmer and grounded, sleeping better, improved digestion, less pain and improved emotional regulation and relationships (just to name a few!).
Who's teaching?
Chandani Amin is a Bodyworker based in East London who has a deeply nourished belief in the self-healing powers of our amazing bodies. She is a Certified TRE(r) Provider, Reflexologist and Reiki Master. Her group TRE classes are an open, non-judgmental space to explore and nurture yourself as well as develop a practical understanding of your body's innate intelligence that you can take home with you!
Since we are working with trauma and sensitivity here, feel free to get in touch with Chandani at statesofhealing@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like to discuss your individual circumstances before attending a group class. In some circumstances it's recommended to begin in private sessions.
